A lot of poker tournament players start off right from the start betting big, going all in, pushing the pot... and loosing it all in the first few minutes. This is very common in freeroll tournaments because everyone thinks "well, I didn't pave to pay to play in here, so I havn't lost anything". Unfortunately that's not true. What you've lost is the chance to win real money for nothing! A good suggestion is to take it very easy right up until you land on the final table. When you have grat pocket cards, stay in. If your pocket cards are bad, or even average, then fold them and don't add to the pot. Of course, if you have to pay a blind, stay in until the risk gets to high, and that probably won't take long. In freeroll tournaments, conservative play is often a life-saver.
